update.
luke was moved from ICU today...yippee! while his mom was attending church the nurses came in and we moved to the 4th floor where most amputees go. his big brown eyes were wide as can be the whole move. After he was settled, or so i thought, i went to go get nancy from the church to tell her he was moved. we decided at that moment since we were aleady down there, we would catch some lunch at the cafeteria which is next to the chapel. when we came back the nurse told us he was asking for us and was getting worried. the move must have scared him a little because it took a while to settle him down. us not being there and the combination of bad dreams was frightening to him. when another amputee came into talk to luke, it settled him down a lot. this guy lost his left leg. BK..below the knee. he had some very encouraging words for all of us. and told luke to thank his mom and love her. :) the rest of the day went well, luke was moving around in bed, eating some food and holding little conversations. again, the hugs are good and the smiles are even better. feel free to call my cell if you would like to talk to luke.
