yea! they closed his wound! he was in surgery from 9-about 11:30 today..yeh we got a little worried as the time passed. but they decided to attach the mucsles so they have new insertions in the bone. they also took2 more cm off the femur. they left some drain holes of course, and also closed up his thumb and the shrapnal injuries he had on his upper thigh. after hearing all this news nancy and i had a big hug and enjoyed some lunch...while talking to a guy who grew up in little falls...small world! the top of his thumb is pretty beaten up and looks like some skin grafts will need to be placed in the future. the doctor said this could be the LAST surgery on his leg! wahoo. good day for sure. we now took some down time to get freshened up while he wakes up from the drugs. thanks for all the prayers...obviously the man upstairs is hearing the hundreds coming in. :) i dont have time to write now, but you get the gist of the day.
