Hello from my last day in San An. Hard to imagine I wont visit this place probably until the New Year. We received the keys today for Lukes new room...pretty spiffy! We even called today to set up phone internet and of course cable tv. Its been rainy and chilly here, but nothing compared to MN. I miss the warmness...I didnt bring enough warm clothes!
Luke was fitted yesterday for his new leg! They dont know if a C-Leg will work in MN, being a computer chip and battery power. haha. they've never had to deal with that issue before. He will be getting a new mechanical leg that will suction to his leg instead a lanyard like hes using now. Things are getting set up for his trip home. but it sounds like he prefers family only. christmas will be his time to see everyone. He also had a blood Dr. appt today. The blood is being sent to Mayo to get checked out, but the Dr. is pretty sure his spleen is coming out after the new year. the way his blood was, if he was about 50, he would not have survived. More good news!
His PT Major Campbell told him to get things in order for Fall Semester at school! after the new year he will be getting his running leg, more progressive therapy and be out of here by june or july!!!!!! yea! only about a year, not too bad, we had heard 18months at first. Things are really looking up for the guy and hes getting pretty pumped about all the good news. Gotta Love Him!

Comments:
He is not the only one that is PUMPED about all the good news. All the followers of the Freedom Fighter's blog will be over joyed. Very much sad that you will not be able to be down there with Luke as much. We are am sure that a lot of the healing power comes from you and the family being around. The comment of School and the running leg sure sounds promising. Seems we mentioned earliar that there would be a marathon in the future if Luke desired. Now will he be going to school down there or will he get to pick and choose on this one? Time is flying by and we have to get to work, those buses will not drive themselves. Until next time, take care of yourselves and we will be praying for everyone. God Bless you all.

luke will be attending BSU as far as I know, Home for good in June/July.

Hi Tina and Luke, I got a chance to catch up on things today. I am sure you will probably be home by now but had to let you know I was thinking of you two. Glad to hear the good news. Yes it gets cold there. The climate is different, air and all. We turn heat on at 68 in McAllen. Well take care, love you both. Love Barb
